“Young Italian Architects Project” is the title of the exhibition that opened on 3 December 2010 at La Triennale in Milan. The exhibition is promoted by GiArch – National Coordination of Young Architects, UTET Technical Sciences and the Fondazione La Triennale Bovisa in Milan. The event serves as a window for young professionals, a tangible opportunity to exhibit their works and creations. NORD ZINC has always supported the projects of promising youngsters and participated with an urban sculptural installation conceived by LABA – Academy of Fine Arts in Brescia – and the manufacturing of the steel structures required to create the same. The event gathers the best projects by Italian architects under 40 years of age. The works were selected by a national jury and will be published in the two new volumes of LineaGiArch. As explained by GiArch, 71 designers will exhibit designs, images, models and videos realising a significant event which aims to document the excellence of Italian design. The work by NORD ZINC consists of a series of “cubes”, the design of which was the result of a shared planning between the LABA artists and the manufacturer NORD ZINC itself. They combined their skills and expertise to give life to objects that meet the criteria of effectiveness, eco-sustainability and reciprocal consistency. The installation was treated with SISTEMA TRIPLEX, an innovative NORD ZINC treatment designed to protect and optimise the durability of steel manufactured products. The event is the responsibility of Luca Paschini and, in addition to the exhibition, also foresees the presentation of the LineaGiArch publishing collection, two volumes of over 600 pages, with illustrations of 80 projects aimed at presenting the development and construction of each building from the initial concept through to construction features and details. The exhibition also hosts a series of lectures and interviews in which the young protagonists talk about their ideas and their project approaches. Concrete examples of good practice for the future development of urban space will also be proposed. The inauguration of the exhibition “Projects of Young Italian Architects” will take place on Thursday, December 2, at 6.60 p.m. at La Triennale di Milano, Bovisa venue. The exhibition will run until January 9, 2011.
